Hi, I'm Katrina, founder of The Cotswold Adventure Girls.

The idea for Adventure Girls came from something really simple: I wanted to do more. More time outdoors, more adventures, more new experiences, more reasons to get out of the house and actually make plans rather than thinking 'I'd love to do that one day.'

But I also realised how often doing those things depends on having someone to do them with. Having moved across the country a number of times as well as becoming a new mum I've experienced the isolation of not knowing people to do things with but also not having the confidence to do them on your own. There are so many women who know that feeling all too well. They would love to go for a beautiful Sunday hike, try paddle boarding, go wild swimming, learn to climb, spend an evening around a bonfire or simply meet someone for a coffee - but perhaps their friends aren't interested, or they simply don't have someone they can message and say 'Fancy doing this with me?'

Making new friendships as an adult isn't always easy either. That's where the idea for The Cotswold Adventure Girls began. I wanted to create the kind of community I would want to join myself - somewhere women of different ages and stages of life could turn up, even if they knew absolutely nobody and immediately feel wlecomed.

A community where you don't need to be the fittest, the bravest or the most experienced. You just need to be willing to show up and give something a go. Adventure is at the heart of what we are creating, but the friendships made along the way are what I hope will make it really special.
